How We Help

DNLCC pursues one fundamental goal – creating a safe haven where a child can begin healing while working through the aftermath of abuse. In each case, DNLCC’s professionals use the best therapies and services to promote healing for the child and the family.

ASSESSMENT: Specially trained professionals conduct a thorough first interview which provides a clear record of the concern. The goal of this assessment is to answer the question, “Has there been abuse?”

ACTION: DNLCC’s professional team then works with agency partners - including medical, legal, social services and mental health- to take appropriate action as quickly as possible. If a child needs to be protected, a plan is put in place.

SERVICES: Children and their caregivers find the services they need at DNLCC or are referred to programs available elsewhere in the community. Individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy are just some of the treatment services provided at DNLCC.

Dedicated to ensuring that each child and family receives the right service at the right time, DNLCC has created working partnerships with numerous service-providing programs and agencies. DNLCC works to strengthen the non-offending caregiver because children deserve to be safe in their own family. Reducing the effects of trauma on the child and family is another important objective.
