Child Abuse Is A Grown-Up Problem:
Learn How You Can Protect Children
Running throughout April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention month, the I believe... Campaign raises awareness about the critical services DNLCC provides to child abuse victims and their families. DNLCC wants all adults to take an active role in the prevention of child abuse and in situations where abuse has already occurred, DNLCC is encouraging adults to respond in a way that supports and protects the child.
Educate yourself by reading the information on this website, participating in the I believe events next April 2009, and reading our booklet Children Can't Protect Themselves, It's Your Job.
Want to know the answers to the April 2008 campaign's billboard questions or just learn more about how to protect children? Check out the answers.
I believe…
Child abuse happens in my neighborhood.
Child abuse happens more frequently than I know.
Children I know are at risk.
I need to recognize abuse.
I need to listen to children and look for signs of abuse.
I am responsible for protecting children from abuse.
With the help of The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center, children can recover from abuse. …child abuse is a grown-up problem! |
