The Awendaw Passage 14K is an 8.5 mile out-and-back race trail run on the famous Palmetto Trail. Starting in the Francis Marion National Forest at Buck Hall Recreation Area, following the Intracoastal Waterway, this trail is a flat and fast, yet challenging mix of single and double-track coastal trail. Plenty of roots, dirt, sand, gently undulating technical terrain, boardwalks and sharp turns, combine with breathtaking saltmarsh vistas and dense, thick forest canopy. This touch, scenic trail is an absolute gem and features the sweetest trail running and hiking the Lowcountry has to offer.
