“I believe… child abuse is a grown-up problem.” This is the theme of DNLCC’s annual public awareness campaign held every April as part of National Child Abuse Prevention month. The campaign focuses on the belief that child abuse is a grown-up problem, and as adults, we are the key element to successful prevention and treatment. This campaign also raises awareness about the critical services DNLCC provides to help child victims and their families in our community heal from abuse.
Thank you to all our community partners and volunteers who participated in the 2010 "I believe... child abuse is a grown-up problem" campaign.
Highlights from the 2010 “I believe…” campaign: • More than 500 children and families from across the Lowcountry attended “Charleston Believes,” an event hosted by DNLCC on April 17, 2010 • Local 10th grader, Julie Holt, won DNLCC and 95SX’s Public Service Announcement contest and the commercial spot was played on-air on 95SX • This year’s campaign was supported by the Wachovia Foundation, Piggly Wiggly, and the Isle of Palms Exchange Club
